Rose, one of our esteemed TSTI students, is currently pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management at Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology. Hailing from Buguta village in the Kasigau area, Rose has been a part of our program since her high school days, and she attributes her university dreams to the invaluable support of ABE Club.
Raised in a family of five siblings, with Rose being the fifth born, she knows all too well that life has not been a walk in the park. Her parents, who are hardworking farmers, struggle to provide even the basic necessities. Nevertheless, we are deeply impressed by Rose’s unwavering zeal and thirst for education, despite the numerous challenges she has faced. Buguta area is frequently plagued by drought, often leaving its residents without access to water and food. In fact, these difficult conditions sometimes force families to go hungry. However, instead of letting adversity deter her, Rose found motivation in these circumstances. She excelled academically at Buguta Secondary School and achieved a commendable grade that paved her way to university.
Rose intimately understands the language of scarcity, recalling the tough times she endured during her high school years. There were instances when she had to spend an extra day alone at school because her family could not provide transportation fare. Yet, despite these setbacks, she managed to obtain a B- in her final high school exams. This was not only joyous news for Rose but also a moment of triumph for the ABE team, as we knew she had been given a life-changing opportunity. Rose was called to join university and pursue a course in Human Resource Management. Although it wasn’t her initial choice of study, she is determined to give it her all and make the most of this chance. Rose expresses deep gratitude to ABE Club for the unwavering support we have provided throughout her journey. As she embarks on her first year at university, she is filled with optimism for what the future holds. We wholeheartedly wish Rose the very best in her pursuits.

At ABE Club, we remain committed to empowering students like Rose, enabling them to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.
