PAULINE UMAZI JUMAA
Allow us to introduce Pauline Umazi, one of our remarkable beneficiaries who is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Development and Special Needs at Kenyatta University. Umazi hails from Sasenyi village in the Kasigau area. Being one of four siblings, she describes life as a persistent thorn tightly woven into the fabric of her existence. She attended Sasenyi Primary School, where she completed her studies and achieved an impressive score of 360 marks in her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education.
Umazi displayed unwavering determination in school, driven by her belief that education held the key to her future. Despite facing numerous obstacles from her unsupportive family, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of knowledge. Reflecting on her cultural background, Umazi recognized that she could not rely on inheriting anything from her father except for the gift of education.
With the support of ABE Club, Umazi found solace in the school environment, where she no longer had to worry about going hungry. She dedicated herself to diligent study, and her academic reports consistently bore witness to her hard work.
The moment arrived for Pauline to sit her final exams. Failure was never an option for her, fueling her determination to channel maximum concentration and effort into her preparations. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, until finally, the long-awaited results were unveiled. The fruits of her labor were evident to all, as she achieved a commendable grade of B (plain), which not only secured her admission to university but also qualified her for the ABE TSTI Program.
Umazi was called to join Kenyatta University to embark on her journey in pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Development and Special Needs. Currently in her first year, we, the ABE fraternity, are committed to making every effort to ensure her dreams become a reality.
Pauline Umazi Jumaa exemplifies unwavering determination, resilience, and the transformative power of education. We stand beside her, providing unwavering support as she continues on her path to success.
